Philadelphia is the largest city in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the county seat of Philadelphia County, with which it is coterminous. The city is located in the Northeastern United States along the Delaware and Schuylkill rivers. It is the fifth-most-populous city in the United States, with a population of 1,526,006 as of the 2010 U.S. Census. Philadelphia is also the commercial, cultural, and educational center of the , home to 6 million people and the country's fifth-largest metropolitan area. The Philadelphia metropolitan division consists of five counties in Pennsylvania and has a population of 4,008,994. Popular nicknames for Philadelphia are Philly and The City of Brotherly Love, the latter of which comes from the literal meaning of the city's name in Greek ( (, ) "brotherly love", compounded from philos (φίλος) "loving", and adelphos (ἀδελφός) "brother").

Alasehir , in Antiquity and the Middle Ages known as Philadelphia , i.e. "(city of) brotherly love" is a town and district of Manisa Province in the Aegean region of Turkey. It is situated in the valley of the Kuzuçay (Cogamus in antiquity), at the foot of the Bozdag Mountain (Mount Tmolus in antiquity). The town is connected to Izmir by a railway. The longtime mayor is Gökhan Karaçoban.

In Philadelphia tagte der erste und teilweise auch der zweite Kontinentalkongress sowie der Verfassungskonvent von 1787, die Amerikanische Unabhängigkeitserklärung wurde hier verkündet und die Verfassung beschlossen.

Alasehir, früher auch Alaschehr, das alte Philadelphia, ist die Hauptstadt des gleichnamigen Bezirks in der türkischen Provinz Manisa. Alasehir liegt nahe der Straße Izmir – Ankara. Alasehir liegt 118 km östlich von Izmir am nördlichen Fuße des Tmolos und am Kusu Çay, einem Zufluss des Großen Mäander. Die teilweise noch von der alten Mauer umschlossene Stadt hat 46.544 Einwohner.
