The city of Philadelphia is the largest city in Pennsylvania and the sixth most populous city in the United States. It is conterminous with Philadelphia County, and serves as the county seat. It is colloquially referred to as "the City of Brotherly Love" (from Greek: Φιλαδέλφεια, , Modern Greek: , "brotherly love" from philos "love" and adelphos "brother"). The city is commonly and informally referred to as "Philly" by residents.
