A fundamental element in the Juventus success story. Former Italian under-21 captain, was suspended for a year in 1990 after he and Roma team mate Andrea Carnevale tested positive for amphetamines. Was replaced in the Italian National team by Gianluigi Buffon and in Juventus by Edwin van der Sar, he was transferred to Inter Milan to take the place of Gianluca Pagliuca.
