Perseus (constellation)
Perseus is a constellation in the northern sky, named after the Greek hero Perseus. It was one of the 48 constellations listed by the 2nd century astronomer Ptolemy, and remains one of the 88 modern constellations defined by the International Astronomical Union. It contains the famous variable star Algol (ß Per), and is also the location of the radiant of the annual Perseids meteor shower.

Persée est une constellation de l’hémisphère nord. Relativement grande, elle possède plusieurs étoiles brillantes, dont l’étoile variable Algol (ß Persei).

Perseusz (gwiazdozbiór)
Perseusz (łac. Perseus, dop. Persei, skrót Per) – gwiazdozbiór nieba północnego, najlepiej widoczny w szerokości geograficznej Polski podczas okresu jesiennego. Jest to jeden z 48 gwiazdozbiorów opisanych przez Ptolemeusza i jednocześnie jedną z 88 oficjalnych, współczesnych konstelacji.

Nazwa gwiazdozbioru pochodzi od Perseusza, bohatera z mitów greckich. Gwiazdozbiory mitologicznie z nim powiązane to również Andromeda, Kasjopeja oraz Cefeusz.

Kształtem swoim gwiazdozbiór przypomina grecką literę Pi – π. Przebiega przez niego pas  Drogi Mlecznej. Gołym okiem można dostrzec ok. 90 gwiazd, w tym najjaśniejsze: Mirfak (α Persei, także znany jako Algenib) oraz Algol (β Persei).
