Pernambuco is a state of Brazil, located in the Northeast region of the country. To the north are the states of Paraíba and Ceará, to the west is Piauí, to the south are Alagoas and Bahia, and to the east is the Atlantic Ocean. There are about of beaches, some of the most beautiful in the Region, as Porto de Galinhas, Carneiros and Calhetas. In 1982 the city of Olinda, the second oldest Brazilian city, was declared a Historical and Cultural Patrimony of Humanity by the UNESCO. Recife, the Capital of State and Olinda have one of the most traditional and best carnaval of Brasil. Both have Portuguese architecture, with centuries-old casarões and churches, and kilometers of beaches and much culture. The state of Pernambuco also includes the archipelago Fernando de Noronha. The proximity of the Equator guarantees an entire year of sun, with average temperatures of 26 °C (79 °F).

Pernambuco – jest jednym z 26 stanów Brazylii, (+ Dystrykt Federalny) położonym w północno-wschodniej części kraju, na najdalej wysuniętym na wschód krańcu Ameryki Południowej. Od zachodu graniczy ze stanem Piauí , od południa ze stanem Bahia, od północy ze stanem Paraíba, wschodnią granicą jest Ocean Atlantycki. Stan rozciąga się wąskim pasem o szerokości ok. 150 km od wybrzeża po wzgórza północnej części Wyżyny Brazylijskiej.
