Pernambuco

Pernambuco (pron.  ) is a state of Brazil, located in the Northeast region of the country. To the north are the states of Paraíba and Ceará, to the west is Piauí, to the south are Alagoas and Bahia, and to the east is the Atlantic Ocean.

Pernambuco ist ein Bundesstaat im Nordosten Brasiliens mit der Hauptstadt Recife. Das Territorium Pernambucos hat eine Ausdehnung von ca. 99.000 km² und ist damit etwa vergleichbar mit der Größe Portugals.

Pernambuco – jest jednym z 26 stanów Brazylii, (+ Dystrykt Federalny) położonym w północno-wschodniej części kraju, na najdalej wysuniętym na wschód krańcu Ameryki Południowej. Od zachodu graniczy ze stanem Piauí , od południa ze stanem Bahia, od północy ze stanem Paraíba, wschodnią granicą jest Ocean Atlantycki. Stan rozciąga się wąskim pasem o szerokości ok. 150 km od wybrzeża po wzgórza północnej części Wyżyny Brazylijskiej.
