Perú

Peru (, , ), officially the Republic of Peru (, ), is a country in western South America. It is bordered on the north by Ecuador and Colombia, on the east by Brazil, on the southeast by Bolivia, on the south by Chile, and on the west by the Pacific Ocean.Peruvian territory was home to the Norte Chico civilization, one of the oldest in the world, and to the Inca Empire, the largest state in Pre-Columbian America. The Spanish Empire conquered the country in the 16th century and established a Viceroyalty, which included most of its South American colonies. After achieving independence in 1821, Peru has undergone periods of political unrest and fiscal crisis as well as periods of stability and economic upswing.

Peru (spanisch República del Perú, amtlich Republik Peru) ist ein Staat im westlichen Südamerika und grenzt im Norden an Ecuador und Kolumbien, im Osten an Brasilien, im Südosten an Bolivien, im Süden an Chile und im Westen an den Pazifik.Den Namen Peru erhielt das Land erst von den spanischen Eroberern. Seine Herkunft ist nicht endgültig geklärt: Teilweise wird sie auf einen gleichnamigen Indianerhäuptling im Gebiet des Isthmus von Darién zurückgeführt, von dem die Spanier zum ersten Mal von einem sagenhaften Goldland im Süden erfuhren. Eine andere Theorie erklärt den Namen als Umformung aus dem Wort pelu, das in der Sprache der in Kolumbien lebenden Chibcha "Wasser" bedeutet.

Il Perù (in spagnolo: Perú, in quechua: Piruw, in aimara: Piruw) è una nazione (1.285.220 km², 27.949.630 abitanti, capitale Lima) dell' America meridionale. È una Repubblica presidenziale, l'attuale capo di Stato è Alan García. Confina a nord con Ecuador e Colombia, a est con Brasile e Bolivia, a sud con Cile, a ovest con l'Oceano Pacifico. La lingua ufficiale è lo spagnolo. Il quechua e l'aymara, lingue indigene parlate prevalentemente nella regione andina, sono riconosciute localmente come ufficiali dove il loro utilizzo è effettivamente prevalente.
