Pentium
Pentium is a brand used for a series of x86-compatible microprocessors produced by Intel. In its most current form, a Pentium processor is a consumer-level product with a two-star rating, above the low-end Atom and Celeron products but below the faster Core i3, i5 and i7 lines as well as the high-end Xeon processors.

Pentium III
The Pentium III brand refers to Intel's 32-bit x86 desktop and mobile microprocessors based on the sixth-generation P6 microarchitecture introduced on February 26, 1999. The brand's initial processors were very similar to the earlier Pentium II-branded microprocessors. The most notable difference was the addition of the SSE instruction set (to accelerate floating point and parallel calculations), and the introduction of a controversial serial number embedded in the chip during the manufacturing process.

Intel Pentium
Der Pentium ist ein 1993 von Intel vorgestellter Prozessor (CPU). Er war der Nachfolger der erfolgreichen i486-CPU-Baureihe aus demselben Hause. Als der Pentium angekündigt wurde, rechnete die Fachwelt mit der Fortsetzung des bis dahin üblichen Namensschemas bei x86-Prozessoren. Demnach hätte die CPU 80586 oder kurz i586 heißen müssen. Ende 1992 ließ Intel dann aber verlauten, dass die zur CeBIT 1993 angekündigte CPU den Namen Pentium tragen solle. Pente (πέντε) – das griechische Wort für fünf – sollte nun der fünften x86-Generation aus dem Hause Intel den Namen geben.

Intel Pentium III
Der Pentium III ist ein im Februar 1999 vorgestellter x86-kompatibler Mikroprozessor von Intel, ein enger Verwandter seines Vorgängers Pentium II. Der größte Unterschied zwischen den beiden Prozessoren liegt in der zusätzlich vorhandenen SSE-Einheit für schnelle Gleitkomma-Operationen.

Pentium
Pentium est une marque déposée par Intel en 1993 pour nommer, de façon générique, les microprocesseurs de la famille x86 qui ont suivi l'Intel 80486. La marque Pentium a servi à désigner plusieurs évolutions majeures (Pentium Pro, Pentium 4) et mineures (Pentium MMX, Pentium II, Pentium III, Pentium M, Pentium D) de l'architecture de processeur x86. Les autres marques utilisées parallèlement à la marque Pentium pour les x86 sont les marques Celeron pour l'entrée de gamme et Xeon pour les stations de travail et serveurs informatiques. En 2006, la marque Core a remplacé Pentium pour le segment principal du marché, les Pentium Dual-Core sortis en 2007 étant des Core 2 d'entrée de gamme.

Le Pentium III est un microprocesseur de la gamme x86 d'Intel. Il est de la 6 génération, comme le Pentium II et le Pentium Pro.

Pentium
Pentium är en processorserie från Intel. Den är en utveckling av (och därmed kompatibel med) äldre mikroprocessorer från Intel såsom 8088, 8086, 80286, 80386 och 80486. Datorer byggda kring dessa processorer brukar kallas PC-kompatibla. Intel Pentium arbetar enligt x86-strukturen.

Pentium III
Pentium III är en mikroprocessor från Intel som hör till x86-familjen (mer exakt i686), introducerad den 26 februari 1999. De första versionerna var mycket lika de senaste modellerna av Pentium II, där den största skillnaden är introduktionen av ett kontroversiellt serienummer som var inbäddat i chipet under tillverkningsprocessen. Precis som med Pentium II fanns det en budgetvariant, Celeron, och en starkare version, Xeon. En förbättring på Pentium III-designen är Pentium M.

Pentium
Pentium - mikroprocesor zaprojektowany i wytwarzany przez firmę Intel, ukazał się na rynku 22 marca 1993 jako następca serii 486. Pentium miał się oryginalnie nazywać 80586 lub i586, jednak ponieważ Intel nie mógł zarejestrować samych cyfr jako znaku towarowego, wybrano nazwę "Pentium". Niemniej w pierwszych programach powstałych w tym czasie i w ich dokumentacji używano często nazwy "i586".

Pentium III
Projekt rozwijał się pod kryptonimem Katmai, zanim został oficjalnie przemianowany przez firmę Intel na procesor Pentium III. Zestaw nowych instrukcji określany w fazie wstępnej mianem KNI (Katmai New Instructions) lub MMX-2 przemianowany został w ślad za tym na SSE (Streaming SIMD Extensions), przy czym element SIMD (Single Instruction Multiple Data) określa znane już z techniki MMX jednoczesne przetwarzanie grupy danych przy pomocy jednego rozkazu. Główna różnica pomiędzy SIMD w wersji MMX i SIMD w wersji SSE polega na tym, iż o ile MMX operuje na danych w formacie całkowitym, SSE stosuje tę samą technikę również w odniesieniu do liczb zmiennoprzecinkowych.
