Pearl River Delta
The Pearl River Delta (PRD), Zhujiang Delta or Zhusanjiao in Guangdong province, People's Republic of China is the low-lying area surrounding the Pearl River estuary where the Pearl River flows into the South China Sea. It is one of the most densely urbanised regions in the world and one of the main hubs of China's economic growth.

Pearl River Delta
De Pearl River Delta is een van de grotere 'megalopolissen' in de wereld, liggend in het zuiden van China, in de provincie Kanton.

Officiële cijfers stellen dat het gebied circa 35 miljoen inwoners had in 2001, huidige schattingen variëren van 40 tot 60 miljoen mensen, waarvan een groot deel bestaat uit ongeregistreerde Chinezen. Het gebied omvat onder meer Hongkong, Macao, Kanton, Zhuhai en Shenzhen. Ook vindt men er een van de grootste havens ter wereld, Hongkong. Het gebied is het snelst groeiende gebied qua inwonertal en BNP.
