The PARIS (Paper Aircraft Released Into Space) project was a privately organised endeavour undertaken by various staff members of the information technology web site The Register to design, build, test, and launch a lightweight aerospace vehicle, constructed mostly of paper and similar structural materials, into the mid-stratosphere and recover it intact.

Paris (; French: ) is the capital and largest city of France. It is situated on the river Seine, in northern France, at the heart of the Île-de-France region (or Paris Region, ). As of January 2008 the city of Paris, within its administrative limits (the 20 arrondissements) largely unchanged since 1860, has an estimated population of 2,211,297 and a metropolitan population of 12,089,098, and is one of the most populated metropolitan areas in Europe. Paris was the largest city in the Western world for about 1,000 years, prior to the 19th century, and the largest in the entire world between the 16th and 19th centuries.

Paris (frz. []) ist die Hauptstadt Frankreichs und der Region Île-de-France. In älteren - zumeist lateinischen - Texten wird Paris auch Lutetia/Lutezia genannt. Der Fluss Seine teilt die Stadt in einen nördlichen Teil (rive droite „rechtes Ufer“) und einen südlichen Teil (rive gauche „linkes Ufer“). Das administrativ zur Stadt Paris gehörende Gebiet hat 2.167.994 Einwohner (amtliche Zahl für 1. Januar 2006), in der städtischen Siedlungszone (Unité urbaine) lebten im Jahr 2005 9.928.000 Menschen und in der gesamten Metropolregion etwa 11 Millionen Menschen (Stand 1999).

Paris (prononcé //) est la  ville la plus peuplée et la capitale de la France, chef-lieu de la région d’Île-de-France et unique commune-département du pays. Elle se situe sur une boucle de la Seine, au centre du Bassin parisien, entre les confluents de la Marne et de la Seine en amont, et de l’Oise et de la Seine en aval. Ses habitants s’appellent les Parisiens et les Parisiennes.

Paris är ett av världens viktigaste affärs- och kulturcentrum. Som en av de mest betydelsefulla globala städer är Paris även ett viktigt politiskt, teknologiskt och konstnärligt centrum, samt ansedd som modets och gastronomins huvudstad . Paris besöks årligen av över 30 miljoner utländska turister, vilket gör staden till världens populäraste resmål.

Paryż (fr. Paris) - stolica i największa aglomeracja Francji, położona w centrum Basenu Paryskiego, nad Sekwaną (La Seine). Miasto stanowi centrum polityczne, ekonomiczne i kulturalne kraju, jedno z 10 największych w  Europie.
