Parietal eye
A parietal eye, also known as a parietal organ or third-eye or (often but less correctly) pineal eye, is a part of the epithalamus present in some animal species. The eye may be photoreceptive and is usually associated with the pineal gland, regulating circadian rhythmicity and hormone production for thermoregulation.

Scheitelauge
Das Scheitelauge, auch Parietalauge oder -organ, ist ein nach oben gerichtetes, zentrales drittes Auge auf dem Scheitelbein (Os parietale) des Schädels, das bei ursprünglichen Wirbeltieren als Lichtsinnesorgan zur Wahrnehmung von Helligkeitsunterschieden dient.

Troisième œil (ésotérisme)
Le troisième œil (également dit «œil intérieur » ou « œil de l’âme ») est une métaphore mystique et ésotérique qui désigne, au-delà des yeux physiques, un troisième regard, celui de la connaissance de soi. Dans certaines traditions, le troisième œil est symboliquement placé sur le front, entre les sourcils.

Oko ciemieniowe
Oko ciemieniowe to utracone w procesie ewolucyjnym trzecie oko występujące u pierwotnych gadów i płazów. Pierwotnie było w pełni wykształconym trzecim okiem położonym w otworze znajdującym się pomiędzy kośćmi ciemieniowymi. Miało normalnie rozwinięty nerw wzrokowy biegnący do ośrodka wzroku w mózgu.
