Pandion I
In
Greek mythology, Pandion I was a legendary king of
Athens, the son and heir to
Erichthonius of Athens and his wife, the
naiad Praxithea. He married his maternal aunt,
Zeuxippe, and they had four children,
Erechtheus,
Butes,
Procne, and
Philomela. His rule was unremarkable. He fought a war with
Labdacus, the king of
Thebes, over boundaries, and married his daughter Procne to
Tereus in exchange for help in the fighting.

Pandion I.
Pandion, der Sohn des
Erichthonios und der Praxithea, wurde nach seinem Vater König in
Attika. Mit seiner Frau Zeuxippe, der Schwester seiner Mutter, zeugte er die beiden Töchter
Prokne und
Philomele und die Zwillingssöhne
Erechtheus und
Butes. Zu seiner Regierungszeit sollen
Demeter und
Dionysos nach Attika gekommen sein. Wahrscheinlich wurde nach Pandion I. eine attische
Phyle Pandionis genannt, weshalb er sowohl in
Athen als auch in
Delphi in der Figurengruppe der Eponymen (namensgebende
Heroen) zu finden ist(Marathonweihegeschenk der Athener in Delphi
).
