Pamphylia

In ancient geography, Pamphylia was the region in the south of Asia Minor, between Lycia and Cilicia, extending from the Mediterranean to Mount Taurus (modern day Antalya province, Side,Turkey). It was bounded on the north by Pisidia and was therefore a country of small extent, having a coast-line of only about 75 miles with a breadth of about 30 miles. Under the Roman administration the term Pamphylia was extended so as to include Pisidia and the whole tract up to the frontiers of Phrygia and Lycaonia, and in this wider sense it is employed by Ptolemy.

Pamphylien ist eine antike Landschaft an der mittleren Südküste von Kleinasien - etwa von der heutigen Großstadt Antalya nach Osten zum Taurus-Gebirge in der Türkei.Ihre Nachbarregionen hießen Lykien (im Westen), Pisidien (im Norden, zu dem die Grenze um die Zeitenwende zu verschwimmen begann), und Kilikien im Osten.In römischer Zeit bildete es mit Lykien die Provinz Lycia et Pamphylia.

La Panfilia era una piccola regione storico-geografica costiera dell'Asia Minore, confinante a ovest con la Licia e a nord-nord est con la Galazia e bagnata dal Mediterraneo orientale. Le coste panfilie erano prospicienti all'isola di Cipro.
