.pr is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Puerto Rico.Supported by the National Science Foundation, The Gauss Research Laboratory was instituted at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus in 1986. In 1989 the National Science Foundation awarded funds to Dr. Oscar Moreno for his project entitled Support for the Participation of the University of Puerto Rico in the NSFNET, and the .pr domains were assigned to the Gauss Research Laboratory under the management of Dr. Oscar Moreno.
