POV is een afkorting voor Point of View (gezichtspunt). In de literatuurwetenschap wordt deze term gebruikt om de positie van de verteller ten opzichte van zijn verhaal aan te duiden. In filmscenario's wordt de term en de afkorting gebruikt om het camerastandpunt aan te geven. Bijvoorbeeld in een enge film:"(POV insluiper) Jonge vrouw loopt nietsvermoedend naar de koelkast". Dat wil zeggen dat de scène getoond wordt zoals de insluiper die zou zien.
