pulse amplitude modulation (PAM)
Modulation in which the amplitude of individual, regularly spaced pulses in a pulse train is varied in accordance with some characteristic of the modulating signal. (188 ) Note: The amplitude of the amplitude-modulated pulses conveys the information.
