Peter Leko
Péter Lékó (born September 8, 1979 in Subotica, Yugoslavia) is a Hungarian chess grandmaster. He became a grandmaster in 1994 at the age of 14 years (a world record at the time). He was the challenger in the Classical World Chess Championship 2004 and tied Vladimir Kramnik 7-7, but Kramnik retained his title. His best world ranking was number four, first achieved in April 2003. Lékó is the son-in-law of Armenian grandmaster Arshak Petrosian.

Péter Lékó, Lékó Péter dans l’ordre usuel en hongrois, né le 8 septembre 1979 à Subotica en Yougoslavie (actuellement en Serbie), est un joueur d'échecs hongrois. Au début du , il fait partie des dix meilleurs joueurs mondiaux.

Peter Leko
Péter Lékó (Serbiska: Петер Леко), född 8 september 1979 i Subotica, Jugoslavien, är en ungersk schackspelare och stormästare. Han blev stormästare 1994 när han var 14 år och var då tidernas yngste stormästare. I januari 2010 hade han Elo-rating på 2739, och var rankad som nummer 12 i världen och nummer 1 i Ungern. Han har som bäst varit rankad fyra i världen (april 2003).

Péter Lékó
W wieku dwunastu lat został mistrzem międzynarodowym, dwa lata później otrzymał tytuł arcymistrza. W 1996 roku zdobył tytuł mistrza świata juniorów w kategorii do 16 lat. Od połowy lat dziewięćdziesiątych jest stałym uczestnikiem prestiżowych turniejów i rozgrywek o mistrzostwo świata. Do największych jego sukcesów turniejowych należą: II miejsce na turnieju w Tilburgu (w 1998 roku), I miejsce w Dortmundzie (1999), II miejsce w Essen (2002), I i II miejsca w Linares (2003 i 2004) oraz II i I w Wijk aan Zee (2004 i 2005). W 2000 roku w meczu rozegranym w Budapeszcie pokonał ówczesnego mistrza świata FIDE, Aleksandra Chalifmana.
