Óscar Arias
Óscar Arias Sánchez (born 13 September 1940, in Heredia, Costa Rica) is the current President of Costa Rica, a position he also held from 1986-1990. In 1987 he received the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to end civil wars then raging in several Central American countries. He is also a recipient of the Albert Schweitzer Prize for Humanitarianism and a trustee of the Economists for Peace and Security. In 2003, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the International Criminal Court's Trust Fund for Victims.
