Oral Torah

The Oral Torah, Oral Law, or Oral Tradition , according to Rabbinic Judaism, is an oral tradition received in conjunction with the written Torah (and the rest of the Hebrew Bible), which is known in this context as the "Written Torah" . The traditions of the Oral Torah are believed to be the same as those recorded in the Mishnah and Talmud during the 2nd-5th centuries CE.

La Torah Orale (héb. תורה שבעל פה, Torah SheBe'al Pe) est pour sa majeure partie l'exégèse non-écrite sur le Texte qui a été transmise, selon la tradition rabbinique, de Sage en Sage par voie orale, selon les modalités décrites dans la première mishna du premier chapitre du Traité des Pères : Moïse reçut la Torah au Sinaï, et la transmit à Josué, et Josué la transmit aux Anciens, et les Anciens aux Prophètes, et les Prophètes la transmirent aux hommes de la Grande Assemblée.
