Opoczno is a town in south-central Poland, within eastern part of Lódz Voivodeship (since 1999), previously in Piotrków Trybunalski Voivodeship (1975–1998). Important communication routes run through the town, namely the Central Rail Line, which connects Silesia and Krakow with Warsaw, and national road number 12, which creates a connection between the Western and Eastern parts of Poland. The town also has a good connection with the Silesia–Warsaw highway. The town and commune have a total area of 190 km², and make one of the largest communes in the Lódz district; 36 thousand inhabitants live here, of which 23,162 (as of 2007) live in Opoczno.

Opoczno to miasto w woj. łódzkim, w powiecie opoczyńskim, siedziba gminy miejsko-wiejskiej Opoczno. W latach 1975-1998 miasto administracyjnie należało do  woj. piotrkowskiego, zaś przed 1975 r. do woj. kieleckiego. Patronką miasta jest św. Cecylia.

Opoczno is een stad in het Poolse woiwodschap Lódz, gelegen in de powiat Opoczynski. De oppervlakte bedraagt 24,76 km², het inwonertal 22.734 (2005).
