2003 invasion of Iraq
The 2003 Invasion of Iraq (19 March – 1 May 2003), was the start of the conflict known as the Iraq War, or Operation Iraqi Freedom, in which a combined force of troops from the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Poland invaded Iraq and toppled the regime of Saddam Hussein in 21 days of major combat operations. The invasion phase consisted of a conventionally fought war which concluded with the capture of the Iraq capital Baghdad by United States forces.

Iraq War
The Iraq War, or the War in Iraq (also referred to as the Occupation of Iraq, the Second Gulf War, or Operation Iraqi Freedom by the United States military), was a conflict that occurred in Iraq from March 20, 2003 to December 15, 2011, though sectarian violence continues since and has caused hundreds of fatalities.

Irakkrieg
Der Irakkrieg war eine Invasion des Iraks durch die Streitkräfte der Vereinigten Staaten, der Streitkräfte des Vereinigten Königreichs und verbündeter Staaten in der sogenannten Koalition der Willigen im Jahr 2003. Des Weiteren stellt er den Gipfel und auch das Ende des Irak-Konflikts, sowie der langjährigen Spannungen zwischen einem Teil der Vereinten Nationen und dem Irak dar.

Opération libération de l'Irak
L'Opération libération de l'Irak ( Operation Iraqi Liberation ou Operation Iraqi Freedom selon le terme adopté par le Département de la Défense des États-Unis) était une opération militaire destinée à lancer la guerre en Irak. Elle s'est officiellement terminée le 1 mai 2003. Les opérations des pays alliés, comme celles du Royaume-Uni (Operation Télic) et de l'Australie, portent d'autres noms de code.

Irakoorlog
De Irakoorlog is een door de Verenigde Staten en het Verenigd Koninkrijk in maart 2003 ingezette oorlog tegen en in Irak, waarbij ook andere landen troepen leverden.
De oorlog kan worden onderverdeeld in twee fases. De eerste fase was de invasie waarbij een multinationale troepenmacht, de zogenoemde Coalition of the Willing, het bewind van Saddam Hoessein verdreef. Deze fase duurde van 20 maart 2003 tot 1 mei 2003.
Het doel van de coalitie was naar eigen zeggen het ten val brengen van het regime van Saddam Hoessein, dat de Iraakse bevolking zou onderdrukken, het internationale terrorisme zou ondersteunen en massavernietigingswapens zou hebben ontwikkeld, bezitten en hebben ingezet. Tot op heden zijn dergelijke wapens niet gevonden, noch is de connectie met Al Qaida aangetoond.
