Opel
Adam Opel AG (Opel) is a German automobile company founded by Adam Opel in 1862. Opel has been building automobiles since 1899, and became an Aktiengesellschaft in 1929. The company is headquartered in Rüsselsheim, Germany. It became a majority-stake subsidiary of the General Motors Corporation in 1929 and has been a wholly owned subsidiary since 1931.

Die Adam Opel GmbH ist ein deutscher Automobilhersteller, der seit seiner Umwandlung in eine Aktiengesellschaft im Jahre 1929 (seit 2005 GmbH) zum US-amerikanischen Automobilkonzern General Motors (GM) gehört. Am 10. September 2009 wurde bekannt, dass der GM-Verwaltungsrat empfohlen hat, Opel an den von der Bundesregierung favorisierten Bieter, den Zulieferer Magna, zu verkaufen. Am 3. November 2009 revidierte der Verwaltungsrat von GM diese Entscheidung und entschied sich gegen einen Verkauf.

Adam Opel AG
Spółka akcyjna Adam Opel AG to niemiecki producent samochodów. Przedsiębiorstwo Opel zostało założone w roku 1862 przez Adama Opla w miejscowości Rüsselsheim w Hesji. Początkowo produkowało maszyny do szycia, a następnie rowery. W 1899 rozpoczęto produkcję samochodów.

W pewnych okresach Opel był największym producentem samochodów w Niemczech. W czasie II wojny światowej ciężarówki Opla Opel Blitz stanowiły podstawowe wyposażenie Wehrmachtu.

1929 rodzina Opel sprzedała większościowy pakiet akcji amerykańskiemu gigantowi samochodowemu General Motors Corporation.
