Not a freestyle manoeuvre! The 'one-foot-off' measurement refers to the width of the board measured one foot in from the tail. (Usually the measurement is expressed in centimetres: "The one-foot-off is 34cm..."). Nowadays this is now normally referred to simply as the tail
width.
