Olívio Dutra
Olívio Dutra (born 10 June 1941 in Bossoroca) is a Brazilian politician, a founder and current member of the Workers' Party (PT). He was mayor of Porto Alegre from 1989 to 1992 (the first of four terms, totaling 16 years of PT government in the city), as well as governor of Rio Grande do Sul from 1999 to 2002. After Luís Inácio Lula da Silva was elected president, he was appointed "Minister of the Cities" for the period 2002-2006. In 2006, Olivio Dutra was the PT's candidate for Rio Grande do Sul's governor race, being defeated by Yeda Crusius in a November runoff election.
