Office of Strategic Services

The Office of Strategic Services (OSS) was a United States intelligence agency formed during World War II. It was the wartime intelligence agency and was the predecessor to the Central Intelligence Agency.

L'OSS, sigle de l'anglais Office of Strategic Services soit Bureau des services stratégiques, était une agence de renseignement du gouvernement des États-Unis. L'Office of Strategic Services (OSS) era un servizio segreto statunitense operante ai tempi della Seconda guerra mondiale. È stato il precursore della CIA.Fu istituito nel giugno 1942 con lo scopo di coordinare la gestione della raccolta di intelligence militare a livello centrale, assumendo in ciò un ruolo sovraordinato ad ogni altra analoga struttura già esistente nelle forze armate americane .Il presidente Harry S. Truman lo sciolse il 20 settembre 1945 .
