Nose

Anatomically, a nose is a protuberance in vertebrates that houses the nostrils, or nares, which admit and expel air for respiration in conjunction with the mouth.In most humans, it also houses the nosehairs, which catch airborne particles and prevent them from reaching the lungs. Within and behind the nose is the olfactory mucosa and the sinuses. Behind the nasal cavity, air next passes through the pharynx, shared with the digestive system, and then into the rest of the respiratory system. In humans, the nose is located centrally on the face;on most other mammals, it is on the upper tip of the snout.

Le nez (du latin nasus) est la saillie médiane du visage située au-dessus de la lèvre supérieure et qui, en le surplombant, recouvre l'orifice des fosses nasales, qui constituent le segment supérieur des voies respiratoires et renferment l'organe de l'olfaction. Nos - wyniosłość w obrębie twarzy stanowiąca drogę przepływu powietrza w procesie oddychania. Powietrze przechodzące przez nos zostaje ocieplone i nawilżone. Dociera później do okolicy węchowej znajdującej się w jego górnej części. Substancje chemiczne, czyli te zawarte w powietrzu są rozpuszczane w śluzie i pobudzają wtedy liczne receptory znajdujące się w okolicy węchowej. Następnie impuls wędruje do mózgowia przez nerw węchowy, gdzie jest odbierany. Obecne w nosie włoski wyłapują drobinki zanieczyszczeń nie pozwalając im dostać się do płuc.

Il naso è l'organo del senso dell'olfatto.Nell'uomo, il naso occupa la parte centrale del viso posizionato al di sopra della bocca. È costituito da una parte sporgente (piramide nasale), da una parte interna (cavità nasali) suddivisa da una parete mediale (setto nasale).La piramide nasale è rivestita da una cute ricchissima di ghiandole sebacee ed è parzialmente costituita da un corpo cartilagineo.Le fosse nasali sono due corridoi paralleli (generalmente simmetrici). Ciascuna delle fosse è a sua volta ripartita in due aree: il vestibolo, nella parte anteriore, la fossa - propriamente detta - nella parte posteriore.Il setto nasale è in parte cartilagineo ed in parte osseo.

De neus is een orgaan. Bij de meeste gewervelde dieren zit de neus centraal op het gezicht of aan het eind van de snuit. In een neus zitten bij de meeste dieren twee neusgaten. Ademhalen gebeurt voornamelijk door de neus. De neus heeft als functie de lucht te reinigen, te verwarmen en tevens dient de neus om te ruiken.
