Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland (, Ulster Scots: Norlin Airlann) is a constituent country of the United Kingdom lying in the northeast of the island of Ireland, covering 5,459 square miles (14,139 km², about a sixth of the island's total area). As of the UK Census in April 2001, its population was 1,685,000, between a quarter and a third of the island's total population.

L'Irlande du Nord (Irlandais:Tuaisceart Éireann, Scots d'Ulster: Norlin Airlann, Anglais:Northern Ireland) est l'une des quatre nations constitutives du Royaume-Uni. Elle se compose de six des neuf comtés de la province irlandaise d'Ulster, au nord-est de l'île d'Irlande. Le reste de l'île d'Irlande est constitué par l'État d'Irlande. Elle couvre , soit environ un sixième de l'île entière et 5% du Royaume-Uni. Elle a une population de d'après le recensement du Royaume-Uni de 2001. Cela représente entre un quart et un tiers de la population de l'île et 3% de celle du Royaume-Uni. La capitale, et en même temps la plus grande ville, est Belfast.

Es besteht aus dem größten Teil der historischen irischen Provinz Ulster im Norden Irlands.Im Verhältnis zur Republik Irland ist Nordirland dichter bevölkert und hat mehr Industrie.

Jej stolicą jest Belfast.Irlandia Północna powstała w 1922 roku, gdy po utworzeniu Wolnego Państwa Irlandzkiego, sześć z dziewięciu hrabstw północno-wschodniej prowincji Ulster (irl. Ulaidh) pozostało przy Zjednoczonym Królestwie. W hrabstwach tych dominowali protestanci, w większości potomkowie szkockich i angielskich osadników, którzy nie chcieli mieszkać w katolickiej Irlandii.

L'Irlanda del Nord è una delle quattro nazioni costitutive del Regno Unito.
