Norderney

It is also a municipality in the district of Aurich in Lower Saxony.The island is 14 km long and about 2.5 km wide, having a total area of about 26.3 km² and is therefore Germany's tenth largest island. Norderney's population amounts to about 6,200 people. In 1946 Norderney gained municipal status and belongs to the Aurich "Kreis" (county). On the northern side of the island lies a 14 km long sandy beach.

Norderney est une île allemande d'environ 26 km² et 5.996 habitants (31 déc. 2004) et la troisième des Îles de la Frise orientale vu de l'Ouest entre Juist et Baltrum. Elle appartient comme ville à l'arrondissement d'Aurich au Land de Basse-Saxe.

Norderney ist von Westen gesehen die dritte der sieben zu Niedersachsen gehörenden ostfriesischen Inseln, die in der Nordsee dem Festland vorgelagert sind. Zugleich bildet das Gebiet der Insel die Stadt Norderney im Landkreis Aurich mit knapp 6000 Einwohnern. Zur Stadt gehören die beiden Ortsteile Fischerhafen und Siedlung Nordhelm.

Norderney (Fries: Nordeneach, Nedersaksisch: Nörderneei) is een van de Duitse Waddeneilanden. Het behoort tot de deelstaat Nedersaksen en het district Aurich en heeft officieel de status van stad. Het eiland is ongeveer 14 kilometer lang en 2 kilometer breed, heeft een oppervlakte van zo'n 25 km² en circa 6000 inwoners. De gelijknamige hoofdplaats ligt aan de westkant van het eiland en is een belangrijke badplaats.
