Noah

Noah (or Noe, Noach; ; Arabic: نوح, ; "Rest" ) was the tenth and last of the antediluvian Patriarchs according to the Bible. His story is contained in the book of Genesis, chapters 5-9. Noah saves his family and breeding pairs of all animals from God's Deluge. He receives a covenant from God, and his sons repopulate the earth.

Noé (hébreu: נֹחַ nōa'h : repos ou consolation) est un patriarche biblique lié au récit du Déluge. Sous les ordres de Dieu, il bâtit la célèbre arche portant son nom afin d'échapper aux eaux dévastatrices lancées pour éradiquer l'humanité corrompue. Noé aurait vécu 950 ans, était marié et eut trois fils : Sem, Cham et Japhet. Son histoire est contée dans la Genèse aux chapitres 6 à 9. Au chapitre 10, l'Ancien Testament expose comment les fils de Noé seraient à l'origine de l'ensembles de peuples de la Terre (voir Table des peuples).

Noe (hebr. נוח Noa, ar. نوح ) - wg Księgi Rodzaju (Rdz 6,8-9,29) syn Lameka, patriarcha, człowiek prawy i sprawiedliwy, który jedyny spośród ówczesnych zepsutych ludzi znalazł łaskę w oczach Boga Jahwe. Dlatego Bóg postanowił sprowadzić powszechny potop, mający zgładzić ludzkość i oszczędzić Noego wraz z rodziną i zwierzętami Ziemi. W tym celu kazał zbudować arkę, pomieścić w niej rodzinę i po parze wszystkich niepływających zwierząt, aby przeczekać katastrofę. Gdy Arka została ukończona Bóg zesłał na ziemie wielki potop, nieustanny deszcz podniósł poziom wody tak że zakryła ona nawet najwyższe góry. Po 40 dniach przestał padać deszcz, a gdy po wielu tygodniach wody opadły, Arka spoczęła na górze Ararat, a Noe zszedł na ląd i złożył Panu ofiary z bydła i ptactwa. Bóg obiecał nie sprowadzać więcej potopu z powodu człowieka i na znak przymierza rozciągnął na niebie łuk - tęczę. Według tradycyjnej chronologii biblijnej Noe żył w latach 2902 p.n.e.-1952 p.n.e..

La Pro Wrestling NOAH è una federazione di wrestling giapponese fondata nel 2000. È stata creata dal pluricampione della All Japan Pro Wrestling Mitsuharu Misawa. Il "NOAH" nel nome è riferito al personaggio biblico di Noè: Misawa, al momento di lasciare la AJPW, prese con sé un gruppo di wrestler della federazione per creare una nuova organizzazione, tra le perplessità generali. Anche il simbolo della federazione, un'arca con una colomba che stringe nel becco un ramoscello di ulivo, è un chiaro riferimento alla storia di Noè.
