This article is about a music group. For other uses, see
Nina. NiNa are a six-piece group formed in
1999 containing

B52's), bassist
Mick Karn (from the British group
Japan), vocalist

Sakuma Masahide composed most of the music with input from Pierson and Yuki who also wrote the lyrics. Niña
The Niña (the
Spanish word for "girl") was one of the three
ships used by
Christopher Columbus in his first voyage towards the Indies in 1492. The real name of the Niña was Santa Clara. The name Niña was probably a pun on the name of her owner, Juan Niño. She was a
caravel-type vessel. The other ships of the Columbus expedition were the
Pinta and the
Santa María. The Niña was by far Columbus' favorite. She was originally three-mast
lateen sail rigged caravela latina, but she was re-rigged as caravela redonda at Azores with
square sails for better ocean performance.

Draumur um Nínu
"Draumur um Nínu" (
English translation: "A Dream About Nína", sometimes known as "Nína") was the
Icelandic entry in the
Eurovision Song Contest 1991, performed in
Icelandic by Eyjólfur Kristjánsson and Stefán Hilmarsson under the name "Stefán & Eyfi".The song, with its catchy piano intro, is a ballad, with the singers expressing their love for the tititular Nina. It appears that she can never be with them, however the reason for this is never explained. In
2002, Eyjólfur and Stefán performed the song at a concert in the Reykjavík City Theatre. The concert was recorded and the recordings were released on a CD.
