New Zealand

New Zealand is a country in the south-western Pacific Ocean comprising two large islands (the North Island and the South Island) and numerous smaller islands, most notably Stewart Island/Rakiura and the Chatham Islands. In Māori, New Zealand has come to be known as Aotearoa, which is usually translated into English as The Land of the Long White Cloud. The Realm of New Zealand also includes the Cook Islands and Niue, which are self-governing but in free association; Tokelau; and the Ross Dependency (New Zealand's territorial claim in Antarctica).

Neuseeland (englisch: ; maorisch üblicherweise: ) ist ein geographisch isolierter Inselstaat im südlichen Pazifik. Er besteht aus der Nord-, der Südinsel sowie zahlreichen kleineren Inseln. Die nächstgelegenen Staaten und Gebiete sind Australien im Westen, Neukaledonien, Tonga, Fidschi im Norden und Antarktika im Süden. Weder geographisch noch kulturell lässt sich Neuseeland eindeutig einem bestimmten Kontinent zuordnen: das Land liegt teils auf der Australischen, teils auf der Pazifischen Platte und ist sowohl mit dem europäisch geprägten Kulturraum Australiens als auch mit dem polynesischen Teil Ozeaniens verbunden. Neuseeland ist ein mit demokratisch-parlamentarischer Verfassung. Für ein Industrieland eher ungewöhnlich sind die Hauptwirtschaftszweige: Land- und Forstwirtschaft, Nahrungsmittelindustrie sowie Tourismus. Neuseeland wird vielfach als „grüne Insel“ betrachtet, was vor allem an der relativ dünnen Besiedlung, der damit verbundenen Unberührtheit der Natur sowie der äußerst vielfältigen und bedingt durch die isolierte Lage einzigartigen Vegetation liegt.

Lo stato è principalmente formato da due isole principali: l'Isola del Nord e l'Isola del Sud e da numerose isole minori come l'isola di Stewart e le isole Chatham. Il mare di Tasman la separa dall'Australia situata circa 2000 km a nord-ovest.Conta 4.257.616 abitanti distribuiti su 268.680 km² (comprese le isole Antipodi, Auckland, Bounty, Campbell, Chatham e Kermadec). La capitale è Wellington e la città più popolosa è Auckland.
