Nephele

In Greek mythology, Nephele (from Greek: nephos, "cloud") was the goddess of Clouds who figured prominently in the story of Phrixus and Helle. She married Athamus but he divorced her for Ino. Greek myth also has it that Nephele is the cloud whom Zeus created in the image of Hera to trick Ixion, since he tried to rape the goddess. Ixion and Nephele gave birth to the Centaurs which were helped by their own mother during their struggle against Heracles.Phrixus, son of Athamas and Nephele, along with his twin Helle, were hated by their stepmother, Ino. Ino hatched a devious plot to get rid of the twins, roasting all the towns crop seeds so they would not grow. The local farmers, frightened of famine, asked a nearby oracle for assistance. Ino bribed the men sent to the oracle to lie and tell the others that the oracle required the sacrifice of Phrixus. Before he was killed though, Phrixus and Helle were rescued by a flying golden ram sent by Nephele, their natural mother. Helle fell off the ram into the Hellespont (which was named after her, meaning Sea of Helle) and drowned, but Phrixus survived all the way to Colchis, where King Aeetes took him in and treated him kindly, giving Phrixus his daughter, Chalciope, in marriage. In gratitude, Phrixus gave the king the golden fleece of the ram, which Aeetes hung in a tree in his kingdom.

Personnage de la mythologie grecque, Néphélé (en grec ancien  / Nephélê, de / néphos, « nuage ») était une nuée dont Zeus fut le créateur. Il la créa à l'image d'Héra pour tromper Ixion. Néphélé épousa Athamas, et de leur union naquirent Hellé puis Phrixos. Plus tard, Athamas épousa une princesse nommée Ino. La nuée fut donc répudiée, étant ainsi séparée de ses deux enfants. Néphélée vivait dans l'angoisse qu'un jour Ino tua Phrixos afin que son propre fils héritât du royaume. Ses peurs étaient fondées. Ne pouvant plus supporter l'idée de perdre ses enfants, Néphélé décida de demander de l'aide aux dieux. Sa prière fut entendue par Hermès qui envoya un bélier ailé à la toison d'or du nom de Chrysomallos. Sa mission fut d'enlever Hellé et Phrixos des mains de leur mâratre.

Nephele ist in der griechischen Mythologie eine Wolke, die Zeus in der Gestalt Heras erschafft, als diese von Ixion - dem König der Lapither, dem Zeus zu Unsterblichkeit verholfen hat - auf einem Gelage der Götter im Olymp bedrängt wird.Als Ixion dieses Trugbild nun in seinem Weinrausch "nimmt", wird der Kentauros geboren, ein Bastard, halb Mensch, halb Pferd, der später mit den Stuten am Berg Pelion die Kentauren zeugt.In der Folge wandelt Nephele trostlos durch die Hallen des Olymp, bis sie auf Befehl der Hera von Athamas, dem Herrscher über Boiotien, geehelicht wird und so die Mutter des Phrixos, des Leukon und der Helle wird. Athamas aber nimmt sich in seinem Palast am Fuße des Berges Laphystion Ino zur Geliebten, die Tochter des Kadmos, des Gründers von Theben. Er zeugt mit dieser den Learchos und den Melikertes.

Nefele w mitologii greckiej to bogini chmur. Powstała kiedy Zeus stworzył ją na podobieństwo swojej małżonki, aby nie narażajac się na zdradę wypróbować Iksjona, o którym wiedział, że pożąda Herę. Nefele urodziła Iksjonowi Kentaurosa, pierwszego Centaura. Poślubiła króla Orchomenos (Beocja) Atamasa panującego w Beocji. Urodziła mu dwóch synów: Fryksosa, Leukona oraz córkę Helle.
