Nebraska

Nebraska is a state located on the Great Plains of the United States of America. Nebraska gets its name from a Chiwere word meaning "flat water," after the Platte River that flows through the state. Once considered part of the Great American Desert, it is now a leading farming state. Nebraskans are sometimes colloquially referred to as "Cornhuskers" (which is derived from the state nickname).

Nebraska [] ist ein US-Bundesstaat des mittleren Westens  der Vereinigten Staaten. Der Name Nebraska stammt von einem indianischen Wort mit der Bedeutung "flaches Wasser". Der Name rührt vom Platte River, der durch den Staat fließt. Obwohl früher befürchtet wurde, Nebraska könne Teil der Großen amerikanischen Wüste werden, ist Nebraska jetzt einer der größten Produzenten landwirtschaftlicher Erzeugnisse. Hiervon zeugt auch der Beiname Nebraskas: "Cornhusker-State" (Maisspeicher-Staat).

Il Nebraska è uno stato federato (200.520 km², 1.747.214 abitanti, capitale Lincoln) degli Stati Uniti d'America.Deve il suo nome ad una parola in lingua chiwere che significa "acqua calma" e si riferisce al corso del fiume Platte, che attraversa tutto lo stato prima di confluire nel Missouri.Il territorio dello stato era prevalentemente arido, specie nella parte occidentale, fin quando non si è praticata una massiccia e scientifica trasformazione agricola che fa sì che il Nebraska sia oggi considerato uno dei primi stati agricoli degli Stati Uniti.
