National Assembly
National Assembly is either a legislature, or the lower house of a bicameral legislature in some countries. The best known National Assembly, and the first legislature to be known by this title, was that established during the French Revolution in 1789, known as the Assemblée nationale. Consequently, the name is particularly common in Francophone countries, but is also found in some Commonwealth countries. In Germany, a Nationalversammlung was elected following the revolutions of 1848–1849 and 1918–1919, to be replaced by a permanent parliament (Reichstag) later. The legislature of the Estado Novo regime in Portugal was dubbed National Assembly, while the Chamber of Corporations was a purely advisory chamber.

Nationalversammlung
Nationalversammlung (mitunter auch Volksversammlung) ist die Bezeichnung für verschiedene historische und gegenwärtige parlamentarische Versammlungen, im deutschen Sprachraum meist für eine Verfassunggebende Versammlung. Der Begriff geht zurück auf die Nationalversammlung (französisch Assemblée nationale) während der Französischen Revolution von 1789.

Nationale Vergadering (Frankrijk)
De Assemblée nationale (Nederland: Nationale Vergadering) is de benaming van het Franse lagerhuis van het Tweekamerparlement van Frankrijk. Het hogerhuis van het parlement heet de Sénat (Senaat).
De Franse Nationale Vergadering bestaat uit 577 leden, die députés (gedeputeerden, afgevaardigden) worden genoemd. Elk lid is gekozen voor een kiesdistrict. Het hoofd van de Nationale Vergadering is de president. De tegenwoordige president is Bernard Accoyer. De president wordt bijgestaan door twee vicepresidenten. De Franse Nationale Vergadering wordt voor een termijn van vijf jaar gekozen. De President van Frankrijk mag de Nationale Vergadering echter ontbinden en nieuwe verkiezingen uitschrijven. Hij mag dit echter niet doen, als hij dit ook al het jaar daarvoor heeft gedaan.
