Nashville, Tennessee
Nashville is the capital and the second most populous city of the U.S. state of Tennessee, after Memphis. It is located on the Cumberland River in Davidson County, in the north-central part of the state. Nashville is a major hub for the health caremusicpublishing, and transportation industries.Nashville has a consolidated city-county government which includes seven smaller municipalities in a two-tier system. The population of Nashville-Davidson County stood at 607,413 as of 2005, according to United States Census Bureau estimates. The 2005 population of the entire 13-county Nashville Metropolitan Statistical Area was 1,498,836, making it the largest and fastest-growing metropolitan area in the state.

Nashville è la capitale dello Stato del Tennessee ed è situata sulle sponde del fiume Cumberland nella contea di Davidson, nella parte centro-settentrionale delo Stato. Nashville è uno dei centri più importanti per l'industria sanitaria, editoriale, dei trasporti e per la musica.Secondo una stima del 2005 Nashville ha una popolazione di 575.261 abitanti (Nashvillians), che ne fa la seconda città più grande del Tennessee, dopo Memphis. La sua area metropolitana è invece la più grande dello Stato e la sua popolazione assomma a 1.422.544.Nashville è soprannominata la "Città della Musica" perché è la sede del Grand Ole Opry, un famoso programma radiofonico di musica country, della Country Music Hall of Fame e di molte case discografiche. Nel passato era chiamata "la Atene del sud-est degli Stati Uniti" per i suoi istituti scolastici e per l'architettura classica.

Nashville (Tennessee)
Nashville is de hoofdstad van de Amerikaanse staat Tennessee. De stad had in 2000 569.891 inwoners, waarmee het na Memphis de tweede stad van de staat is. In de agglomeratie wonen 1.311.789 mensen (2000).Al 8000 jaar v.Chr. bouwden indianen de eerste dorpen in de omgeving van het huidige Nashville. Na een onrustige periode wordt het huidige Nashville daadwerkelijk gesticht in 1779; in 1806 wordt het als stad aangemerkt. In 1859 wordt het Tennessee State Capitol voltooid. In 1998 wordt de stad getroffen door een tornado.
