For the genus of metalmark butterflies, see Napaea (butterfly). In Greek mythology, the Napaeae (νάπη, "a wooded dell") were a type of shy but mirthful nymph. They lived in wooded valleys, glens or grottoes. They are associated with Artemis, and often accompany her.It is a sophisticated land nymph that lives in wooded valleys.
