Nakhchivan
The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is a landlocked exclave of Azerbaijan. The region covers 5,500 km² and borders Armenia (221 km) to the east and north, Iran (179 km) to the south and west, and Turkey (15 km) to the northwest.

Nakhchivan (city)
Nakhchivan City (; also, Nachitschewan, Nakhchyvan, Nakhicevan, Nakhichevan’, and Nakhjavan), is the capital of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan, located 450 km west of Baku. The municipality of Nakhchivan consists of the city of Nakhchivan and the villages of Basbasi, Qaragaliq, and Dasduz. It is spread over the foothills of Zangezur chain, on the right bank of the Nakhchivan river at an altitude of almost 1000 m.

Autonome Republik Nachitschewan
Die Autonome Republik Nachitschewan oder auch Naxçivan (aserbaidschanisch „Naxçivan Muxtar Respublikasi“) ist eine autonome Republik Aserbaidschans mit 372.880 Einwohnern (Stand 1. Januar 2005). Sie bildet eine Exklave, die vom Iran und Armenien sowie durch einen Grenzabschnitt von nur elf Kilometern von der Türkei umschlossen wird. Hauptstadt ist die Stadt Naxçivan, nach der die autonome Republik benannt ist. Die Exklave hat den Status einer „Autonomen Republik“ mit eigener Verfassung und eigenem Parlament.

Nachiczewan
Nachiczewańska Republika Autonomiczna jest eksklawą Azerbejdżanu. Graniczy z Armenią (221 km), Turcją (9 km) i Iranem (179 km).
W jej skład wchodzi 7 rejonów: Babek, Dżulfa, Kangarli, Ordubad, Sadarak, Szachbuz i Szarur. Głównym miastem jest Nachiczewan.
Region ten jest częścią historycznej Armenii. Wcielony do Azerbejdżanu jako Nachiczewańska Autonomiczna Socjalistyczna Republika Radziecka na polecenie władz bolszewickich, które zabiegały o życzliwość Turcji. Większość zamieszkujących go Ormian została zamordowana lub wyemigrowała podczas wojny o Górski Karabach. Pozostali są obecnie prześladowani.
