Non-uniform rational B-spline
Non-uniform rational basis spline (NURBS) is a mathematical model commonly used in computer graphics for generating and representing curves and surfaces which offers great flexibility and precision for handling both analytic (surfaces defined by common mathematical formulae) and modeled shapes.

Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline
Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (deutsch: Nicht-uniforme rationale B-Splines, kurz NURBS) sind mathematisch definierte Kurven oder Flächen, die im Computergrafik-Bereich, beispielsweise im CGI oder CAD, zur Modellierung beliebiger Formen verwendet werden. Die Darstellung der Geometrieinformation erfolgt über stückweise funktional definierte Geometrie-Elemente. Im Prinzip kann jede beliebige technisch herstellbare oder natürliche Form mit Hilfe von NURBS dargestellt werden.

NURBS
Les NURBS (Non-Uniform Rational Basis Splines) correspondent à une généralisation des B-splines car ces fonctions sont définies avec des points en coordonnées homogènes. Le principal intérêt de ces courbes NURBS est qu'elles parviennent même à ajuster des courbes qui ne peuvent pas être représentées par des B-splines. Un exemple fameux est le tracé d'un quart de cercle.

NURBS
NURBS (förkortning av engelskans Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline) är kurvor och ytor som används inom datorgrafiken för att skapa mjuka övergångar och banor mellan ett antal fasta punkter. Formen på kurvan eller ytan räknas fram genom en beräkningsintensiv matematisk process. Fördelen är att den färdiga formen är upplösningsoberoende, eller snarare har oändlig upplösning, och kan storleksförändras hur mycket som helst utan kvalitetsförsämring.

NURBS
NURBS (ang. Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline) - popularna nazwa dla dwóch rodzajów obiektów: krzywych i powierzchni.
Kształt tych krzywych określany jest za pomocą punktów kontrolnych i znakomicie nadają się do modelowania kształtów organicznych w programach do tworzenia grafiki 3D.
Powierzchnia NURBS jest matematycznie najbardziej elastyczną metodą przedstawienia powierzchni w modelu. Powierzchnia B-spline jest łatwa w modyfikacji, gdyż każdy biegun jej siatki kontrolnej wpływa na kształt powierzchni tylko w ograniczonym stopniu. Siatka kontrolna jest analogiem wieloboku kontrolnego krzywej B-spline.
