NTSC, named for the National Television System Committee, is the analog television system that is used in most of North America, parts of South America (except Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and French Guiana), Burma, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, the Philippines, and some Pacific island nations and territories (see map).

NTSC (, c’est-à-dire « Comité du système de télévision nationale ») est un standard de codage analogique de la vidéo en couleurs lancée aux USA en 1953. Il est adapté aux formats vidéo 525 lignes et 30 images par seconde. Il peut être exploité pour les DVD-vidéo avec une résolution de 720 × 480 lignes. Le standard NTSC est exploité en Amérique du Nord, dans une partie de l’Amérique du Sud (NTSC-M) ainsi que l’Asie, dont le Japon (NTSC-J).

NTSC, National Television System(s) Committee, är beteckningen på den standard för analog färg-TV som kom i början av 1950-talet och som används i USA, Kanada samt i vissa asiatiska och sydamerikanska länder. Europa misslyckades 1967 med att enas om ett enda färg-TV-system: större delen av Västeuropa valde PAL medan Frankrike och Östeuropa valde SECAM.
