The term Four Asian Tigers or East Asian Tigers refers to the economies of Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and South Korea. They are also known as Asia's Four Little Dragons. These countries and territories were noted for maintaining high growth rates and rapid industrialization between the early 1960s and 1990s. In the early 21st century, with the original four Tigers at or near to fully developed status, attention has increasingly shifted to other Asian economies which are experiencing rapid economic transformation at the present time. The four Tigers share a range of characteristics with other Asian economies, such as China and Japan, and pioneered what has come to be seen as a particularly "Asian" approach to economic development. Key differences include initial levels of education and physical access to world markets (in terms of transport infrastructure and access to coasts and navigable rivers, which are essential for cheap shipping).

L'expression Dragons asiatiques sert à désigner quatre pays récemment industrialisés d'Asie : la Corée du Sud, Hong Kong, Singapour et Taiwan. Depuis peu, la République populaire de Chine est parfois ajoutée au groupe. Il ne faut pas les confondre avec les Tigres asiatiques. Ensemble, on les appelle parfois nouveaux pays industrialisés d'Asie (NPIA). Ils font partie des nouveaux pays industrialisés (NPI). Ces pays ont suivi le modèle économique développé par le Japon auquel ils font concurrence dans les activités industrielles les plus sophistiquées (automobile, électronique grand public) depuis 1980.

Konrad Nies, auch Conrad Nies (*17. Oktober 1862 in Alzey/Rheinhessen; † 1922 in St. Louis/USA) war ein deutschsprachiger Lyriker aus Newark im Bundesstaat Ohio der USA. Er schreib auch unter dem Pseudonym Konrad von Alzey.Er gab eine Zeitschrift für deutschamerikanische Dichtung heraus und machte Lesereisen durch die großen Städte der USA und Kanadas, wo er unter anderem Dichtungen von Paul Barsch vortrug."The Cambridge History of English and American Literature vol. 18" nennt ihn "a master of form".

Als Tigerstaaten (das Wort wurde in den 80er Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts geprägt) werden die sich wirtschaftlich schnell entwickelnden Staaten Südkorea, Taiwan, Hongkong und Singapur bezeichnet. Die Bezeichnung stammt daher, dass diese vier Staaten mit einem hohen Wirtschaftswachstum von Entwicklungsländern zu Industriestaaten wurden. Die dabei gezeigte hohe Dynamik erinnerte an die kraftvolle Energie des Tigers, der zum Sprung ansetzt.

Azjatyckie tygrysy – pierwotnie popularna nazwa czterech wschodnioazjatyckich państw: Korei Południowej, Tajwanu, Singapuru i Hongkongu, których wspólną cechą był szybki wzrost PKB (rzędu od kilku do kilkunastu procent rocznie) w latach 1960-1995. Później termin ten został poszerzony o kolejne wschodnioazjatyckie kraje (Malezja, Tajlandia, a nawet Chiny, Filipiny i Wietnam), które weszły na podobną ścieżkę rozwoju pod koniec lat 80. i na początku lat 90. XX w. Niektórzy zaliczają do nich także Malezję, Tajlandię i Indonezję.

De Aziatische Tijgers is een bijnaam die gegeven wordt aan vier landen in Azië: Singapore, Zuid-Korea, Hongkong en Taiwan. Dit vanwege van hun snelle economische ontwikkeling in de jaren '80 en '90. In 1998 kwam hier een eind aan.

Niezen is een plotselinge, krachtige uitademing om de neus te reinigen van prikkelende stoffen. De prikkeling in de neus kan worden veroorzaakt door chemische bestanddelen in de lucht, zoals ammoniak, door natuurlijke stoffen waar men allergisch op reageert of gewoon door ingedroogd slijm. Tijdens een verkoudheid is het slijmvlies van de neus overgevoelig door een virusinfectie, waardoor er vaak wordt geniesd.
