The National Basketball Association (NBA) is the pre-eminent men's professional basketball league in the world. It consists of thirty franchised member clubs, of which twenty-nine are located in the United States and one in Canada. It is an active member of USA Basketball (USAB), which is recognized by the International Basketball Federation as the national governing body for basketball in the United States. The NBA is one of the 4 major North American professional sports leagues. NBA players are the world's best paid sportsmen, by average annual salary per player.

The Spanish national basketball team is the basketball team representing Spain in international competitions, organized and run by the Spanish Basketball Federation. As of September 2011, they are the reigning European champions and second in the FIBA World Rankings for men.
