Navigation Aid (NAVAID)
Includes electrical and visual air navigation aids, lights, signs, and their supporting equipment. (FAA12)
 
Navigation Aid (NAVAID) Classes
Very high frequency omni-directional radio range (VOR), combined Very High Frequency Omni-Directional Radio Range (VOR) and tactical aircraft control and navigation (TACAN) navigational facility (VORTAC), and TACAN aids are classed according to their operational use. The three classes of NAVAIDs are: T-Terminal, L-Low altitude, H-High altitude. (FAA4)
