Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allāh ( ; also Mohammed, Muhammed, Mahomet, and other variants) (c. 570 Mecca - June 8th  632 CE Madina) was the founder of Islam and is regarded by Muslims as the last messenger and prophet of God (Arabic: الله Allah). Muslims do not believe that he was the creator of a new religion, but the restorer of the original, uncorrupted monotheistic faith of Adam, Abraham and others. They see him as the last and the greatest in a series of prophets.

Juni 632 in Medina), eigentlich , gilt als Stifter der Religion des Islam.Mohammed wird von den Muslimen in der Reihe der Propheten als der historisch letzte angesehen, dem mit dem Koran die letzte Offenbarung Gottes (Allahs) herabgesandt wurde. Er ist folglich nach islamischer Auffassung „Das Siegel der Propheten“ (, Sure 33, Vers 40), das heißt, der Beglaubiger der früheren Propheten oder der letzte Prophet in der Geschichte der Menschheit.

Muhammad (محمد) - imię męskie pochodzenia arabskiego. Wariantami tego imienia są: Mohammed, Muammar, Mehmed i Mahomet. Imię Muhammad wywodzi się od rdzenia trójspółgłoskowego Ḥ-M-D i oznacza "chwalony". Inne imiona wywodzące się z tego samego rdzenia to: Ahmad, Mahmud i Hamid. Imię to było rzadkie w czasach dżahilijji, jednak po upowszechnieniu się islamu zyskało na popularności i jest dziś noszone przez około 15 milionów osób na świecie, niekoniecznie Arabów.

Vita Prima della Rivelazione Maometto nacque, secondo alcune fonti tradizionali, il 20 aprile 570 a Mecca, nella regione peninsulare araba del Hijaz, e morì il lunedì 13 rabīʿ I dell'anno 11 dell'Egira (equivalente all'8 giugno del 632) a Medina e ivi fu sepolto, all'interno della casa in cui viveva.
