Mosonmagyaróvár

Mosonmagyaróvár (Croatian: Ugarski Stari Grad, Možun, Stari Grad, Starograd) is a town in northwestern Hungary, county Győr-Moson-Sopron. The town lies close to the Austrian border and has a population of 30,200 inhabitants (as of 2004).Mosonmagyaróvár is a combination of the towns Magyaróvár (German: Ungarisch-Altenburg) and Moson (Wieselburg). The town of Moson was the original capital of Moson County in the Kingdom of Hungary, but the county seat was moved to Magyaróvár during the Middle Ages. The two towns were combined in 1939.

Mosonmagyaróvár [] ist eine Stadt im Komitat Gyor-Moson-Sopron im Nordwesten Ungarns. Die Stadt liegt nahe an der österreichischen Grenze direkt an der Autobahn sowie an der Eisenbahnstrecke, die Wien und Budapest verbinden. Die Stadt hat 30.200 Einwohner (2004).Mosonmagyaróvár ist die Verbindung aus zwei Städten: Moson (deutsch Wieselburg) und Magyaróvár (deutsch Ungarisch-Altenburg). Die Stadt Moson war ursprünglich die Hauptstadt des Komitats Moson im alten Königreich Ungarn, später war es Magyaróvár. Die beiden Städte wurden 1939 zusammengelegt.Durch die Stadt fließt die Leitha, ein südlicher Nebenfluss der Donau.

Leży przy ujściu rzeki Litawy do Dunaju. W roku 2004 miasto liczyło 30.200 mieszkańców.W przeszłości na dzisiejsze miasto składały się dwa mniejsze: Magyaróvár (niem. Ungarisch-Altenburg) i Moson (niem. Wieselburg). W średniowieczu siedzibę księstwa Moson wchodzącego w skład Królestwa Węgier przeniesiono z Moson do Magyaróvár. Oba miasteczka połączono w roku 1939.
