Morse code

Morse code is a method for transmitting telegraphic information, using standardized sequences of short and long elements to represent the letters, numerals, punctuation and special characters of a message. The short and long elements can be formed by sounds, marks or pulses, in on off keying and are commonly known as "dots" and "dashes" or "dits" and "dahs".

L'alphabet morse, ou code morse, est un code permettant de transmettre un texte à l'aide de séries d'impulsions courtes et longues. Inventé en 1835 par Samuel Morse pour la télégraphie, ce codage de caractères assigne à chaque lettre, chiffre et signe de ponctuation une combinaison unique de signaux s. Considéré comme le précurseur des communications numériques, le code morse a depuis le 1 février 1999 été délaissé au profit d'un système satellitaire pour les communications maritimes.

Der Morsecode oder Morsekode ist ein Verfahren zur Übermittlung von Buchstaben und Zeichen. Dabei wird ein konstantes Signal ein- oder ausgeschaltet.Der Code kann als Tonsignal, als Funksignal, als elektrischer Puls mit einer Morsetaste über eine Telefonleitung, mechanisch oder optisch (etwa mit blinkendem Licht) übertragen werden – oder auch mit jedem sonstigen Medium, mit dem zwei verschiedene Zustände (wie etwa Ton oder kein Ton) eindeutig und in der zeitlichen Länge variierbar dargestellt werden können. Man spricht auch von Morsetelegrafie.

Alfabet Morse'a – stworzony w 1832 przez wynalazcę telegrafu Samuela Morse'a kod naśladujący alfabet - sposób reprezentacji znaków alfabetu łacińskiego za pomocą impulsów elektrycznych.Wszystkie znaki reprezentowane są przez kilkuelementowe serie sygnałów - krótkich (kropek) i długich (kresek). Kreska powinna trwać co najmniej tyle czasu, co trzy kropki. Odstęp pomiędzy elementami znaku powinien trwać jedną kropkę. Odstęp pomiędzy poszczególnymi znakami - jedną kreskę. Odstęp pomiędzy grupami znaków - trzy kreski.

Il Codice Morse, detto comunemente anche Alfabeto Morse, è un sistema per trasmettere lettere, numeri e segni di punteggiatura per mezzo di un segnale in codice ad intermittenza. È stato sviluppato da Alfred Vail nel 1835 durante la sua collaborazione con Samuel Morse nello sviluppo della telegrafia e completato l'8 gennaio del 1838. Il codice Morse è una forma antelitteram di comunicazione digitale, tuttavia diversa dai moderni codici digitali binari che usano solo due stati (comunemente rappresentati con 0 e 1), il Morse infatti ne usa 5: punto (•), linea (—), intervallo breve (tra ogni lettera), intervallo medio (tra parole) e intervallo lungo (tra frasi).
