Mond

In physics, Modified Newtonian dynamics (MOND) is a theory that proposes a modification of Newton's Second Law of Dynamics, to explain the galaxy rotation problem. When the uniform velocity of rotation of galaxies was first observed, it was unexpected because the Newtonian theory of gravity predicted that objects that are farther out will have lower velocities. For example, planets in the Solar System orbit with velocities that decrease as their distance from the Sun increases. The MOND theory explains the observed revolution curves, by suggesting that the acceleration of a particle is not linearly proportional to the force, at low values of acceleration. This theory does not have wide support among the scientific community, who currently prefer the alternative dark matter theory. This assumes that a halo of dark matter surrounds each galaxy, causing all the stars in the galaxy disc to orbit with the same velocity.

Der Mond (lateinisch Luna) ist der einzige natürliche Satellit der Erde. Seit den Entdeckungen von Trabanten bei anderen Planeten des Sonnensystems – im übertragenen Sinn zumeist als Monde bezeichnet – wird er zur Vermeidung von Verwechslungen auch Erdmond genannt.Aufgrund seiner verhältnismäßigen Nähe ist er der einzige fremde Himmelskörper, der bisher von Menschen betreten wurde, und damit auch der am besten erforschte. Trotzdem birgt er noch viele Geheimnisse, etwa zu seiner Entstehung und zu manchen Geländeformen. Die spätere Entwicklung ist jedoch weitgehend geklärt.

Die modifizierte newtonsche Dynamik, abgekürzt MOND ist eine physikalische Hypothese, die das Rotationsverhalten von Galaxien durch Modifikationen der Bewegungsgleichungen der Materie im Gravitationsfeld erklären soll. MOND wurde 1983 von Mordehai Milgrom als Alternative zum Postulat der Dunklen Materie vorgeschlagen.

Zmodyfikowana dynamika Newtonowska (MOdified Newtonian Dynamics (MOND)) jest teorią fizyczną w której zasady dynamiki Newtona zmodyfikowane zostały o nieliniową zależność siły od przyspieszenia. MOND zostało zaproponowane w 1983 roku przez izraelskiego fizyka Mordehai Milgrom. W jego dynamice prawo, mówiące że siła jest wprost proporcjonalna do masy i odwrotnie proporcjonalna do kwadratu odległości ulega modyfikacji, w przypadku, gdy oddziaływanie jest bardzo słabe. Zmodyfikowane równanie Newtona ma postać a0 jest stałą o wymiarze przyspieszenia, a0 ~ 10-8 cm/s2. Niektórzy wolą pozostawiać zasadę dynamiki niezmienioną, a modyfikować prawo grawitacji, co z punktu widzenia matematyki jest zupełnie równoważne.
