Miraj

Although unrelated, "Miraj" can also refer to the Islamic tradition regarding Muhammad's ascent to heaven. See: Isra and Mi'raj. Miraj (Marathi: मिरज) is a town in southern Maharashtra, India. Miraj's history dates back to the early 9th century, and the town is known for its rich tradition of Hindustani classical music as well as a reputation for religious harmony. It served as a major station and Jagir for Adilshah of Bijapur.

L'isrâ' (en arabe  « voyage nocturne », venant du verbe [sara'a], « voyager la nuit ») est le voyage nocturne que le prophète  Mahomet aurait fait de La Mecque à Jérusalem puis au paradis et aux enfers. Il est suivi par le mi`raj (, « échelle, ascension ») quand Mahomet monte aux cieux puis descend aux enfers en compagnie de l'ange Gabriel sur une monture appelée Bouraq ( « éclair ») après être allé sur le mur du temple à Jérusalem.

En la tradición islámica el miʽraj es la ascensión de Mahoma a los cielos.Una noche, de acuerdo a la historia, Mahoma fue visitado por dos arcángeles, quienes le abrieron el cuerpo y purificaron su corazón de toda duda, error y paganismo. Fue llevado al cielo, donde ascendió los siete niveles para alcanzar el trono de Dios. En el camino, él y el arcángel Jibrīl se encontraron con los profetas Adán, Yaḥyā (Juan el Apóstol), ʽĪsā (Jesús), Yūsuf (José), Idrīs, Ḥarūn (Aarón), Mūsā (Moisés) e Ibrāhīm (Abraham) y visitaron el infierno y el paraíso. Mahoma aprendió que fue más apreciado por Dios que a todos los demás profetas.

Mirac (Arapça: معراج Mi'rāj, genelde "İsra" ile birlikte "Al-Isrā w-al-M'irāj" denir), yükseğe çıkma anlamındaki “uruc” sözcüğünden türetilmiş olup, sözcük anlamıyla “merdiven” anlamına gelir ve İslam’da Muhammed’in yaşadığı bir manevi yükseliş olayını ifade etmek üzere kullanılan bir terim haline gelmiştir.
