Micro Channel Architecture

Micro Channel Architecture (in practice almost always shortened to MCA) was a proprietary 16- or 32-bit parallel computer bus created by IBM in the 1980s for use on their new PS/2 computers.

Die Micro Channel Architecture (MCA) (dt.: „Mikrokanal“) ist ein proprietäres Bussystem der Firma IBM mit bis zu 32 Bit Busbreite und 10 MHz Bustakt. Es fand sich ab 1987 in PS/2-Personalcomputern, aber auch in RS/6000 Workstations, AS/400-Minicomputern und sogar manchen System/370-Großrechnern (main frames).

Microchannel (ang. MCA - Micro Channel Architecture) - 32-bitowa magistrala skonstruowana przez IBM specjalnie dla komputerów z procesorami 80386DX. Taktowana jest zegarem 10 MHz i z tego względu nie jest kompatybilna z kartami typu ISA. Architekturę MCA wprowadzono w 1987 roku, teraz, po 20 latach, technologia ma niemal zerowe wykorzystanie.

Micro Channel architecture （マイクロチャネルアーキテクチャ （MCA エムシーエー）） は、1987年にIBMで開発されたCPUアーキテクチャ非依存の16ビット/32ビットの高速バスアーキテクチャである。MCAはISAの問題点を全て解決する為に設計されたバスアーキテクチャで、PS/2、AS/400、RS/6000、及び、一部の、System/370で採用された。
