Metalcore

Metalcore is a fusion of extreme metal and hardcore punk that began in the United States. Defining the metalcore sound is not an easy task: various bands have fused a hardcore punk sound and attitude with many different types of metal. Some sources such as Sam Dunn and Guitar One, have called the recent metalcore groups the "new wave of American heavy metal."

Le metalcore est un genre musical originaire des États-Unis, influencé par le punk hardcore et la scène metal. Il garde généralement les riffs et les rythmes du punk rock mais propose une « brutalité » plus proche de celle du metal. Le metalcore est aujourd'hui popularisé par des groupes tels que Atreyu, Black Bomb A, Killswitch Engage et Unearth.

Metalcore ist ein Musikgenre, das vorwiegend auf Elemente aus Death Metal, Thrash Metal und Hardcore Punk zurückgreift. In Anspielung an die New Wave of British Heavy Metal wird die seit 2003 boomende Musikrichtung auch aufgrund der Vielzahl amerikanischer Bands in diesem Genre New Wave of American Heavy Metal genannt.

Metalcore jest gatunkiem muzyki łączącym w sobie elementy metalu i hardcore'u. Hardcore wyewoluował z łagodniejszego i mniej ekstremalnego punku, z czasem jednak muzycy tego nurtu zaczęli interesować się thrash metalem, który też, poniekąd, korzeniami sięgał punk rocka. Metalcore stanowił połączenie ciężkich riffów, prostoty wykonania i agresji połączonej z szybkością. Pierwsze zespoły grające coś, co można w pewnym sensie uznać za protoplastę dzisiejszego metalcore'u, to DRI czy bliższy metalowi Wehrmacht. Zespoły te określa się mianem crossover czyli m.in. połączenia hardcore punka z thrash metalem. Dziś główną inspirację dla zespołów metalcore'owych stanowi melodyjny death metal. Często zespoły określane mianem metalcore w rzeczywistości nie mają prawie nic wspólnego z klasycznym hardcore'em, zamiast tego grają na pograniczu melodyjnego death metalu i nowoczesnego thrash metalu. Istnieją opinie, iż obecnie sam gatunek uległ skomercjalizowaniu i brnie w stronę nu metalu i nowofalowych brzmień. Teksty początkowo zajmowały się tą samą tematyką, co teksty zespołów thrashmetalowych, głównie pod względem politycznym i socjologicznym, były również nieco bardziej humorystyczne i bardziej punkowe.

Il metalcore è un genere musicale consistente nella fusione fra hardcore punk e vari stili di heavy metal, in particolare thrash metal, death metal e melodic death metal. Seppur le origini di questo stile risalgano ai fine anni ottanta, il metalcore rientra in parte nella cosiddetta New Wave of American Heavy Metal, termine coniato da alcuni critici per intendere una determinata scena metal nordamericana orginatasi recentemente sul finire degli anni '90.
