Memorial University of Newfoundland, (popularly known as Memorial University or "MUN") is a comprehensive university located primarily in
St. John's,
Newfoundland and Labrador,
Canada. With historical strengths in engineering, business, geology, and medicine, it is perhaps most widely recognized as one of the top comprehensive universities in Canada. With over 20,000 students, it is also the largest university in
Atlantic Canada.

SJTU World university rankings, the TOP 500 and many other rankings. Memorial has also featured in

England. Universitetet ble grunnlagt som Memorial University College i
1925. Status som universitet ble oppnådd i
1949, da også det nåværende navnet ble antatt. Institusjonen ble gitt navnet memorial til heder og minne om newfoundlendere som ga livet i tjeneste under
første verdenskrig. Dette har senere blitt utvidet til også omfatte provinsens krigsofre fra
andre verdenskrig. MUN har i dag en vitenskapelig stab på 950 heltidsansatte og en studentpopulasjon på 17 000.
